Doing business under a
/ Assumed / Firm / DBA
requires that you do
the following:
In most states, you
need to notarize, register/record/file, & publish a /
assumed DBA Document / statement.
Note: We pay for
filing, notarization, publication, certification and
mailing fees. Our total fee is an

of $99 in most states - (could be more in some
states) -- our fee, includes all fees:
Notarize (note
that we send notary to your home or office form
! - not all states need to notarize, but most
need to publish) and file a DBA within 30
days of starting your business.
Publish the filed name
in a legally adjudicated newspaper for two to four
weeks - most states.

Corporations and owners
doing business under their own name are not required to
file a DBA statement.
On the other hand, If
you plan to use your own name as part of the DBA , you
cannot use something like “& associates” – if you do,
you must file a DBA statement.
For example, "Smith’s
Rob ‘em & Cheat ‘em Service" would not be required to
file a DBA , however, "Smith and Company” would be
required to file a DBA. DBA
Note: A Business
Name with “corp.” or "Inc" is not allowed unless
you want to file a DBA for a corporation with the same
name.
