Employer ID Numbers (EINs)

An Employer Identification Number (EIN) is also known as a federal Tax Id Numberentification number, and is used to identify a business entity. Generally, businesses need an EIN and it is recommended to obtain one for your business.

Nevertheless, you definitely need it in the following situations:

You Need a Federal Tax Id Number:

  1. If you have a corporation,

  2. If have employees, or

  3. If you are obtaining a Wholesale / Retail License ( Some States Require that you obtain a federal Tax Id Number as well)

  4. If you don't want to use your social to open a bank account, you can obtain a federal Tax Id Number and use it to open a business bank account.
